According to HM Revenue and Customs, UK house sales fell by 11,000 last year totalling one of the lowest figures on record to date. The figures released by HMRC show that last year only 869,000 residential properties in the UK were sold in 2011. This means that sales figures are coming dangerously close to the lowest since modern records began in 1978 that was experienced in 2009, when only 848,000 homes were sold. The figures reveal that the property market has been in a three-year slump as sales remain at almost half the levels recorded in the run-up to the financial crisis in 2007. Need conveyancing?
